Relaxing Sunsets
There is nothing more memorable and relaxing that sitting back with a loved one and watching a beautiful South Carolina sunset.
Golfing
Santee is well known as South Carolina’s Inland golf vacation destination. With over a dozen golf courses in the area, and 6 of those within available in under ten minutes, there’s no need to choose just one – play them all! Variety is the spice of life.
Fishing
Lake Marion does not ice over during the winter and there is no closed season for fishing season. Weather permitting, fishermen can fish year round. At the present time the lake holds a world record Channel Catfish (58 lbs) and a Warmouth weighing 2.2 lbs was caught in a creek a few miles from Lake Marion. The manmade lake is home to large and small mouth bass, bream, crappie, trout, catfish, and other aquatic life.
Tennis
Coming soon, two tennis courts will be on site at North Shore Villas and Marina for your volley and pleasure.
Bird Watching
The Santee National Wildlife Refuge stretches 18 miles along the north shore of Lake Marion – the area is 15,095 acres haven to 296 bird, 45 mammal, 54 reptile, 35 amphibian, and more than 100 fish species.
Historical Sites
Located at I-95, Exit 102, North Santee and only around the corner from North Shore at Lake Marion Villas and Marina, the Santee Indian Mound is a 30 foot high, large hill located adjacent to the Santee National Wildlife Refuge which is over 3,000 years old and artifacts have been dated to 3,500 years ago. The mound served as a prehistoric ceremonial center of a native culture. It was then was used by the British in the Revolutionary war as an outpost, Fort Watson.
Historic Charleston, Columbia and Sumter are under an hour away and have enough history to entertain you for a lifetime!

Water Sports
Lake Marion is a host to many water sports including boating, swimming, skiing, kayaking, canoeing and more.
Shopping
From quaint boutiques in small neighboring towns to the outlet malls in Santee and North Charleston and everything in between, shoppers are sure to find a niche that fits their fancy.
Churches
There are approximately 20 churches of all religions within 30 minutes of the Exit 102 at North Santee.
